Default Smoke when slowing down...???

I have a 99 Land Rover Discovery and recently had the head gaskets replaced. Now after driving 5 minutes, I get blue smoke cloud when slowing down (taking my foot off the gas) . I also have a small leak on the ground when parked. I have found that when driving if i switch to (N) when letting off gas, there's no smoke. Is there something in transmission that could cause oil to leak or pushed into engine???

What color was the fluid on the ground?
As for the smoke, sounds like you are burning oil, most likely thru the intake manifold gasket, was it replaced?
How about your PCV hoses, are they firm and unplugged?

Thanks for the speedy reply, fluid on the ground is oil, and all out after 500 miles.
Not sure if the intake manifof gasket was replaced. The head gasket was replaced just before i bought it, about a month ago. I'll check the pcv hoses.

Any chance of a warranty of the head gasket replacement?

Default plug hanging out...

So I took a look underneath, and saw this plug hanging out. Tried to put it back in, but could not. There is one on the other side that is in, but bulged out. Not sure how to get this plug back in, do i nee a special tool? Could this be a/the source of a major oil leak?

Default Back to the dealer

I had the dealer check the head gaskets, and there was no leak there, top of engine is dry. They did find I had an 'aftermarket oil filter' they replaced and changed the oil. They also found metal in the oil.. and added dye to find the source of the leak. I go back this week for the black light/dye test.
I have noticed that is does not smoke as much as before. I'll update after result of the dye test.

Get back to me when you hear back from them, make sure to find out what failed, how they found it, how they verified what the problem and a estimate breaking out parts and labor.

Also, they only changed your oil because you had an aftermarket filter and charged you for the oil change, ask for your money back. It is illegal for them to require you to use OEM oil filters

edit, actually it's against the law for them to even imply that you need to use OEM.

Default update: major leak solved, but still somking...

One year later, and I found the major source of my oil leak while parked. The Oil Pressure Switch was leaking while alot while idling and guessing while parked, it leaked under pressure. I replaced the Oil Pressure Switch and no more puddles or leaks underneath....

Although I still get blue smoke cloud when slowing down (taking my foot off the gas). No smoke when engine is started.

I have been reading that oil too much oil is being pulled into the engine..?

Is the intake manifold gasket a 'easy' job?

Have not checked the PCV hoses yet...

And worst case hoping it's not an internal engine problem.
