Default Special Edition Discos and other LR's

So, I was checking out the Disco's for sale on ebay and saw a couple of special edition vehicles, one was a Kalahari, the other a Team Trek from Colorado? I've also seen the G-4 in the past.

My question is, are these just paint and decal packages? Do they have substance like lockers and other off road worthy features?

My other question, would one be better off buying one of these special vehicles or modifying a stock disco? I like the way they look. I want something pretty loud that I can advertise my business on and get attention as well as offroad in the Montanan mountains.

I would like to see photos of other special LR vehicles as well as any you all have.

Not sure about Kalahari (sounds like it may have a beefed up cooling system), but TReK and G4 (replaced the old Camel Trophy) vehicles are definitely special equipped. G4 Range Rovers for example, come with mud tires, winches, lockers, roof racks, rear-mount ladders, etc.

TReK vehicles can vary from vehicle to vehicle, but the TReK challenge covers 3 continents, and a few hundred miles through the Australian Outback...sooo I'm guessing theyre all pretty capable.

My favorite Disco from the Special Vehicles group is the XD.

The only real problem I see is the potential confusion when you drive around a G4 Disco and try and fit your business name on there, you're going to look like a sponsor...which may or may not be a good thing

Not all G4's came with winches, actually very few and none came with lockers.
As already mentioned, the TREK Special addition came out for a limited time and very limited numbers and were sold only in specific countries.

I thought on the G4 Ranges they had a CDL like the Discos? I very well could be mistaken but that's just what was floating in my head!

So are the G-4's just a sticker package?

What kind of capital outlay would a guy be looking at to get a stock disco to Trek trim?

Hey disco Mike, do you have pics of your rig? It sounds like it's set up pretty close to what I'd like for the trails and roads here in Western Montana.

Thanks,
