Speedo lamp, how do I replace them???

Speedo lamp, how do I replace them???
Hi, new to this forum thing but I'm hoping someone out there can help me out!
I have a 1999 110 defender and the lamps in the speedo unit have stopped working. I have a factory workshop manual (which I think will come in handy as dunny paper next time I go camping!) and I cannot find any reference to "How to change the globes".
I have pulled the instrument pannel out and I have removed the speedo. I can see the two little globe holders hiding down a couple of holes but I'm stuffed if I can work out how to get the little suckers out to replace them?!
If you have any idea, please let me know.
