Default Sputtering

I sure need some help. My '98 Disco is sputtering and stalling as if it isn't getting any fuel. I changed the fuel filter, didn't help. Thought it might be my fuel pump so I put a new one in and again, no change. So I began to look at my ignition wires and they seemed old so I put new wires and plugs in and still it sputters when I try and take off. The engine seems fine, no check engine light . My next thought is the coil. Am I taking the next logical step here? Is there any test I can do before I spend anymore on this?
I would appreciate any help.

Check and possibly replace the fuel pump relay.
Does your truck do this both cold and hot, how is the idle?

Mike, thanks for the help. I did check the relay and eventually found the problem to be in the coil. I found a used coil block for $275 and the Rover is running better than ever. It was probably time to change my ignition wires and plugs anyway. So my saga is complete. I will definitely use this forum again.
Take care, Greg

Consider using the Magnaco 8mm plug wires, they are really great and hold up well on Rovers.
