SuperCharged LR3/ Disco 3??
has anyone out there fitted a RR Sport Supercharged 4.2 V8 into a V8 Discovery 3/ LR3? I have access to an engine and would like to know how much modification is required prior to committing.
Why, it already has 300 horse power, that is way more then the vehicle needs on or off the trail.
Then there is the issue of writing new soft ware for the ECU to handle the turbo, fortify the power train, t/case and especially the weak diffs???

Beg to differ it's all it needs, the acceleration on road is worse than my Disco 2, and think of the scenario you have 7 big lads in it. Complete RR Sport Spr charged engine/ ECU would be installed, no issues on ECU handling S charger logic in that case. My concerns were; real estate accomodation of it under the Disco 3 bonnet/ hood, hook ups like gzorst manifold to the blower underbody passage for the RR pipes, cats etc. air intake positions, how much tweaking and modifying would be required, how much could be done with std parts, and are their customs parts required, is anyone doing them readily like Overfinch? does the RR sport 4.2 V8 hook up directly to the LR3 auto transmission for example?
