Default Swivel Fluid....yes, read other posts...

Okay, I read other post and forums on this subject. And from my recollection of my last Disco, I had them resealed and filled with the "grease packs", when the driver side swivel leaked.

Reading though the RAVE fluid requirements, it stated that the Diff and Swivels can use the same fluid.

So, my plan is to service them next week, using what I used on the Diffs, Redline 75w/140. I did read that if the swivels seals are good there shouldnt be any issues. But, I read that it can begin to leak from old seals. This Disco has 117k and does have any of the leaking housing.

My concern, should I really be worried?

Okay, did more research today and read that the old swivels, like mine, are fine to use the same gear oil.

Since I have the drain, level and fill holes, then using gear oil will be an easy job.

Just hope they dont leak. Well, if they do, it will be a good excuse to rebuilid them.

I tore down one side recently and didn't have a one-shot of grease handy, so just tossed in gear oil. It's weeping a little bit, but not gushing or creating a puddle on the ground. I'll go back to grease, once I get off my lazy butt and buy some more, just to have it be leak free. I'll likely buy the grease when I end up with a big leak.
