Question Tempermental

The Rover will be running fine then it shuts off and won't start again. Nothing electrical will work after it shuts off too. What is wrong with it?

95 Discovery, nothing happens not even a click when you try to start it. The battery is fine. Then you try to start it the next day or a month later and it starts.

well outta my realm (that doesn't take much) i think 95 still has a distributor (there goes ckp theory but the electrical part sounds like a wire shorting)
but here is a bump. maybe the weekend crowd will chime in with some ignition switch theory, sensor, or something.
for more info; do you have a check engine light on? codes?
when it dies, does it shutter or just cut off like it thinks the ignition has been turned off? any correlation with the episodes and water related events (car wash/rain)?

Read my post under Discovery 1 (to Discovery Mike) - and do this test: do not lock your vehicle at all after the last drive and then start as normal the next time.

After reading the silly number of starting problems with Discovery I and II I believe that the alarm system / immobiliser is the main culprit. After two months of continual problems I have now a little experience of this.
