Default Trans won't shift

HI, I have a 96 Discovery. I replaced the transmission with a used trans that had 90K. At first it would not shift then I adjusted the kick down cable to specs and it started shifting. The valves seemed to be stuck also from sitting so I added some K&W trans-X to clean the valves. The more I drove it, the better it shifted. I wanted to show my Wife how good it was running when she got home from work and it's stuck in 2nd. Guess I shouldn't have been so gleeful. Any help on why it stopped shifting? I would like to drive it, not perk it. Thanks
in advance
Charlie

Sounds like a stuck valve in the valve body.
You might want to drain the fluid go with some fresh ATF and a bottle of Lucas.
Might also want to call a local tranny shop, that is a common tranny maybe they can point you in a direction.
Good luck.

I'm going to town tomorrow and will pickup some Lucas. I had thought about that but thats as far as I got. I was wondering, does anyone know if TransX evaporates? That might explain some things ie: why it was a qt low the next day without a leak. Just wonderin

Well, the good news is that Lucas has a pretty good track record and it doesn't evaporate, it is an oil base addiive not a solvent base.
