Transfer case ratio's

I have fitted 33 inch mud tyres to my RRC but have lost a fair bit of power.
I have been told that I can change the transfer case ratios (LT230)
Is this the case and if so, is it something I can tackle myself?

you can swap out the tease ratio to 1.4 which defenders came stock with. discos came with 1.1. IMHO you should just regear the axles.
