Default Transmission / Gearbox Sensor light

I have 94 Land Rover Discovery 3.9 Automatic with 136K miles. I'm the second owner of this truck and bought it from my cousin so wehaveall the service records that have occured. My transmission, gearbox sensor light started flickering on and off about 10 days ago after I had it fully detailed. Two days ago the light just started staying on. My book says it indicates high temp. in transmission / gearbox andoccurs in hot weather, towing, or extendeddriving.I took it in for a transmission flush and they said most likely it's just a bad sensor. It has been hot during the day but the light is on ever time I start the car and stays on while driving.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions with this?
Ifyou feel a phone conversation with me would help please e-mail me and I will give you my #

Thank you in advance for your help.

same on my 93 RRC SWB. ignored it and now I need a trans (no reverse, valvebody froze).

drain/refill with synthetic. drive 50 miles. do it again to ensure the converter is flushed. If you can change the filter do that second time. I would change the filter. I wish I had done it in the preventative mode -- did it later -- paid the same price but have a bad trans now.

my 94 had the same issue. if the light comes on right when you turn on the truck, its a bad sensor.
