Default Ultra gauge Group buy??

I see a lot of references to using the ultra gauge with the land rovers due to poor temp gauge performance. I see that the manufacture sells them for $69.95 with a $9 'reward'. They offer a group discount for 50+ buyers. Are there enough newbies like me, who would be interested? Their website is:

UltraGauge OBDII Scan tool & Information Center

I'm going to end up getting one regardless, but saw this on their website and thought I'd throw a shout out.

Site says $60.95 after mail in rebate of $9. I'd rather have the protection of knowing what is going on rather than the small savings of waiting for 49 others to pony up.

I have a Scangauge II on my Smart car. The car only has lights and if the temp light comes on, it means you have cooked your motor, no warnings.. I love the SG as I can also check engine codes and watch MPG as I drive. I assume the Ultragauge is similar.

well, that doesn't sound very smart, at all.

the 2 are similar, indeed. I use scangauge but ultragauge is less $$

I pretty much agree, which is why I said I'm getting one regardless. It's just that I don't have the money right now, so I have to wait a little anyways. Just thought I'd test the waters in the mean time. I have no idea what the discount actually is.
I do know that the gauges are sent direct to each person from the factory.

I'd note that if funds are tight, a Rover might not be right.... they are heartless piles of posh pre-owned pampered sheet metal that are just waiting to drain resources...... a Beluga Black hole of hopeless enslavement for that extra 1/4 mpg or 3 degrees of temperature change.

You can get a blue tooth adapter and a phone app cheap.

You can also swing by most parts stores and they will demo their fancy scanner (and while at it you can make sure it reads coolant temp). So you can see where you are at idle, etc.

Ya, unfortunately I'm a disabled Vet with limited income, but that won't keep me away!

I have a cheap-o scanner for resetting the occasional CEL on the wife's Mountaineer, and have used it on my Expedition in the past. It also worked OK on my Disco, but wasn't able to do much with the ABS light, which didn't surprise me. Love my Scangauge II but I wouldn't mind a bigger display. I know Scangauge came out with an economy model for a lower price but it still has a smaller display.

Not overly abundant in the cash department either but I don't mind buying a good product. Just couldn't pass up on the Rover...
