'11 LR2 Bluetooth Media Upgrade
I only have navigation in my 2011 HSE, and to be honest it is fairly lacking.
I intend to upgrade the whole shebang with possibly one of the Android units which should get the vehicle up to modern standards, with a few tweaks.
In the meantime I am using the following, with my Samsung S7:
using a nice and the
Which all boils down to a ~$30 outlay to give me the bare essentials:
Voice dialling and texting - including incoming texts being read.
Streaming music through the car speakers
Voice navigation
It is by no means perfect, but it will keep me from making a rash decision for upgrading. For instance, when you get in the car, you need to manually ensure the BT connects to the car, the aux and the ZeroTouch. Sometimes, and it may be my specific phone, an interruption like a calendar event will cause the current app - WhatsApp or Hangouts voice call, for instance, to disengage from BT..... I'm not too concerned as I have the basic utility right now..... the missus on the other hand is less forgiving.
One question to the community is; has anyone successfully installed one of , and what were the pitfalls? This particular brand, XTrons has a cool LR2/Freelander kit, so I'm pretty intrigued at this point.
Cheers
