Default 2008 LR2 HSE green radio Backlight not working

The problem is the buttons around the radio and the screen on the radio do not light up green like they should which makes it impossible to see at night and when its really bright out. I can still see all the text on the radio screen itself but there is no green backlight. I just bought a used LR2 HSE from a family member for only 2,000 dollars who took excellent care of it and it still runs perfectly at 229,000 miles with no leaks or any other problems. I'm really hoping it's just a fuse problem or something simple I can fix or replace myself without breaking the bank. I called a Landrover dealership and they said it would potentially and most likely cost thousands of dollars to fix!! I would really, really appreciate any suggestions at all, please and thank you for your time!

Try the dimmer control wheel on the bottom left hand side of the panel.

There is no dimmer control wheel unless I'm mistaken the only switch for controlling the amount of lights is to the bottom left by where the steering wheel is and it only works to affect the brightness of all the inner display lights except for the radio display and all the buttons for the radio.

Then I am out of ideas. If all the connectors are tight then the only other thing to do are to replace the radio, or remove it and have it serviced to replace the backlight.

Yeah, not the dimmer wheel. More likely a circuitry issue with the board/bulbs of the entertainment system. If the radio, etc. works,I would just live with it as a replacement might not be worth the cost and headache.
