2010 LR2 Fuel Issue
I am looking for some help on diagnosing an issue with my 2010 Land Rover LR2. I am having a fuel issue of some kind. The issue started about 6 months ago. One day my LR2 would not start. After many hours of troubleshooting all I did was unplug the fuel pump and plugged it back in. After a few weeks the LR2 would not start again. I thought it might be the fuel pump control module. With those costing around $200, I bought a used one for $25 on Amazon and that seemed to have resolve the issue for the last 6 months. Today the issue started again. The first time the LR2 would not start I simply unplugged the fuel pump control module and plugged it back in and it started. The second time I attempted to start the LR2 that did not work. I ended up plugging in my original fuel pump control module and it started. I am looking for some advice on what to do next. I was thinking of getting a new FPCM, but was not sure if I would be wasting my money or if it could be something like the fuel rail pressure sensor. I have also not had any codes or check engine light during this problem. Sorry for the long description and thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

Fuel Pump module fault analysis
Note: this information is true for a 2008 3.2
Operation
1. The pump runs briefly before the start button is pushed (Docking the key causes the priming)
2. Press the start button (foot on the brake) and the engine spins, the Crank Shaft position sensor sends a signal to ECU
3. If the ECU accepts the signal then it sends a command to the fuel pump module (Via the CAN Bus)
4. The Fuel pump module turns on the fuel pump and controls its speed using PWM (Duty Cycle if you prefer)
5. The pressure sensor on the fuel rail provides feedback to the fuel pump module so that the pressure is maintained (the system doesn't have a return)
What can go wrong
a. Faulty fuel pump module (you already tried this)
b. Faulty Crankshaft position sensor
c. Faulty fuel rail pressure sensor
d. Faulty check valve in fuel pump
e. Intermittent contact for wiring to fuel pump due to routing of the harness
f. Faulty relay or fuse powering the fuel pump module
