I bought my wife a wrecked 2011 lr2. After repairing it, I can't get the dash to light up when fob inserted into dash. Am I missing something? Is here a trick. I have heard some stuff about immobilizer. No idea what it does to the vehicle. I can't start vehicle at this point. Please help

The fob uses inductive charging (like the mats you can get for phones)
so it only charges in the slot. When one fob is not used for a long time or you don't alternate the fob will go flat. I found instructions on how to 'crack' it open and replace the battery.

Fairly easy to do and a whole lot cheaper than a replacement!
