Default 2013 LR2 Is something missing?

Was replacing starter on my 2013 LR2 and noticed a pipe at the base of exhaust manifold that looked like something should have been attached? Any ideas??

I cannot tell what that is or if you took the picture from the bottom or from the top.

Dose not appear to have had anything connected recently. Seems like there would be performance ramifications if that large of a hose was actually missing.

Maybe it's just a vent or reference port for atmospheric pressure? Although it looks like it has a lip to hold a pressurized hose (like coolant). Maybe the part is used in a variety of applications, and that fitting would be applicable to a different make/model? Ecoboost is used on a lot of vehicles.

If performance is good, no codes, and fuel trims are normal I'd assume it's supposed to be that way. No way would the engine run normally if there's supposed to be something there, that's a big hole.

I think you are very confused. That is not under the exhaust manifold. The fan is at the FRONT of the engine so that has to be under the INTAKE manifold.

I believe that is a vapor purge port and the maintenance manual image shows there is no hose to be attached there.
