We have had this LR2 for 3 years and it is at 66,000 kms now with no problems thus far. If the vehicle is subjected to -20 C weather, it sounds like an exhaust leak very near to engine until it warms up. No codes go, no carbon showing around exhaust manifold that I can see.
It is not a manifold to head leak, because of higher frequency of the noise ( not just one cylinder). Vehicle runs the same but noisy until warm. Obviously louder when accelerating and quiet with no load. VIN SALFP2BG8EH, Engine is a 2.0L 16V TIVCT T/C 240PS Petrol with ULEV II emissions. No after market anything on it and now engine work since new. Any ideas here.
