Did you see #18?

I've only seen it once and it was when my battery was near the end of its life.

The Voltage Dip when starting the engine cause the light to come on.

I charged the Battery but it died the next day and it had to be replaced.

Good luck

Yes. And it stayed on until i drove to the supermarket. When I went to leave the market engine was warm and the light was off. I wonder what triggers that. Maybe the little motor that operates the adaptive lighting was frozen and something detected too much current when trying to operate it?

This is only for the HID headlights

If you have the standard Halogen Headlights then you don't get the adaptive feature (i.e. the Lighting Package adds this feature)

My opinion? I've seen this twice and both were triggered by battery low voltage. Now my AGM is into it's 4-5 years and I currently don't do long drives daily anymore so my battery is complaining.

And now you know which headlights I have. Hint: They are not halogens. It's why I never bothered to try converting them to LED's.

You might want to do a hard reset (Battery + and - removed and touched together)

When the Voltage Dips too low one of the modules in my LR2 will latch up and then it doesn't shutdown when instructed to do so on the CAN BUS and then the next day my LR2 didn't start.

There are a lot of modules that could LATCH UP due to the Voltage Dip (I never determined which one but I have bypassed/disconnected the Satellite Radio and Bluetooth and I haven't had problems but there are a lot more that could cause problems)

If you are lucky your LR2 will start tomorrow.......................when I saw #18 I wasn't lucky....................

Let us know what happens

Take care

Paul

This happened Saturday morning. The car started right up, but with that warning light. After it warmed up everything was fine. No problems since.

That is good news!!!!!

Thanks for sharing.

When I got the light I think my LR2 failed to start but when I pushed the button again it did start.

It is likely that we got the light for different reasons (See above for your hypothesis of a possible cause, it rarely gets below freezing where I live so that wasn't my root cause)

Right now my Daughter drives the LR2 and She has no complaints.

Take care

Paul

PS I did change my EVAP PURGE VALVE based on your experience/posts (one time I got a rough start) and with the new valve it has been fine since. The LR2 isn't very fault tolerant but if you are proactive and replace things that have failed for others at the first sign of trouble it seems to be reliable (at least that has been my experience over the last 15 years, we will see over the next 15).

The night before this happened the temps had dropped to -13F and not much better in the morning. And yes, the purge valve appears to be a common failure point -- so common that it appears to be the root cause of the hot soak start problem myth when refuelling.

In any vehicle, you can safeguard your purge valve by not topping off the tank after the nozzle trips off.
