I have a fan assembly that I pulled from my LR2 to replace it with a dual fan assembly. Working fine when pulled, I just wanted more cooling because I haul trailers once in a while. The fan controllers are the same, on the single fan assemblies only one output is connected to a fan, obviously. I am asking $150+shipping. What are they asking you for the fan module?

 

I just checked pricing on RockAuto and eBay, not because I need one but because I was curious. The brand name aftermarket modules are near $200. The off-brand fan assemblies with module are less than $150 on eBay. These are not really comparable to a working OEM assembly like yours. If you don't get your asking price, you might be satisfied just to keep it as a spare.

 

I hope not. It is a lot of work to replace the fan assembly. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

 

I know. But once you get over that first-time hump, it's much smoother.

 

That's like losing all your engines on an aircraft. It's OK, it will take you straight to the site of the crash.

 

Okay guys , so one of the cooling fans was ceased, i forced it to move it started moving with squealing noise , sprayed it with WD40 its working normal again , both fans and the cooling sys are tested now and its working fine .
im still gonna find the coolant leak .
the question is : will the fan go bad again ? Do I need to replace it anyway ? Or this sometimes can be a permanent fix ?

 

Which WD40 product did you use? The original is not a lubricant, it's anti corrosion and attracts dust.

 

The normal one , what would you do ? Honestly im thinking about replacing it .
These engines are sensitive to overheating .

 

I would replace it. Why take a chance on ruining your engine from overheating?

Normal WD40 will make it worse.

 

Ok since the OEM is extremely expensive, I saw a used OEM one on EBAY , and of course there are some aftermarket ones , what do you recommend , and if you have a link for the product I would really appreciate it .
