door won't open
Dear guys,
I just bought a discovery 2 last week and I am very fond of it.
Because it is an old car they come with little problems.
When I lock the car with de remote function of the key all the doors will lock.
When I want to unlock the car de left door (it is an European model) wil not open. I just can open it by hand at the door inside.
Can someone give me some tips where to look for?
I think it is an electrical problem. I just checked the fuses.

What year is your Discovery 2 ?
Usually these sort of problems are the door lock motor.
Shop manual download in links below. It is a collection of great British Art of working on Rovers. But it does not compare to the exhibition on tour in the US from your Mauritshuis museum at the Hague. Vermeer's masterpiece The Girl With A Pearl Earing lights up the room.

Is it the single point of entry option?
Did you try pressing unlock twice?
Single point entry (if enabled) This is a personal security feature, which enables the driver's door only to be unlocked, leaving the other doors in a locked state. It can be operated by the remote handset as follows: • press the unlock button once to unlock the driver's door. • press a second time (within one minute) to unlock the remaining doors.
Single point entry can be disabled by a Land Rover retailer.
I'm not sure if it's the same but on my 2008 LR2 It can be disabled on individual remote controls by unlocking the vehicle then simultaneously pressing and holding the lock and unlock buttons for three seconds. The vehicle will lock and then unlock in the currently selected mode and the hazard warning lamps will flash twice to confirm the change. You can now unlock all doors with a single press. Repeating the procedure will re-enable single point entry.
