Default Dual fan unit

I was intrigued by the mention of the dual fan unit, so I looked into it. Part number LR011905 is about $1200 new, $600-$900 used on eBay. HOWEVER, I decided to search outside my vehicle info, and found that the diesel models come with it standard. I searched that way (diesel instead of petrol) and found a used fan unit in the UK in pristine condition for £75! With shipping it came to US$132. It's on its way.

Odd that the diesel model comes with the dual fan. I thought diesel's run cooler than gasoline engines. Why would they spec the diesel with a higher CFM fan than the gas model?

No clue. I just know this one was identified as coming from a 2008 2.2L diesel model LR2.

Needs tighter temp control due to design? Maybe the turbo needs oil temp controlled better?
