Default Flywheel lock tool dimensions for timing belt change

Hi all.

I need to change my timing belt, but it's too difficult to find a locking tool for the flywheel.

Could somebody that has one please supply us with some dimensions for tool?

I'll be able to cut one from a plate...

Even just a photo of the tool with a ruler against it for scale...

Thanks...

Too difficult? If you search Google for "303-1272 land rover" it will show you at least 10 suppliers who can ship one to you.

Thanks. The ones that are available are too expensive. I'm in South Africa as well... So no eBay or Amazon magic here...

Both eBay and Amazon will ship to South Africa. Amazon Global does it. eBay International Shipping will do it as well. There are no drawings that I can find for this tool that give dimensions and I don't own one. I can't do anything about the price, it is what it is.

Thanks again.
I've seen them, but we have a terrible customs department. They are very corrupt and suck at their jobs... It will only arrive here in a few months, if it even does and they put a hell of a levy them as well.
I would like to do the job next week...

And there isn't a single Land Rover mechanic or dealer in SA that has the tool? Then you need to improvise.

Go over to freel2.com and see if there is the info you want there, they are a large community of FL2/LR2 owners even a few with the Volvo si6 power plant.
