Default Fuel rail sensor

I replaced the fuel rail sensor and now it leaks fuel. I ordered a second one and it is doing the same thing. Is there a trick to installing it or is it possible the cheaper after market ones don’t have the proper size O ring. I noticed the O ring on both new ones didn’t fit real tight against the sensor groove.

I would tend to use OEM parts for things like, aftermarket is very hit and miss in this era.

You could also try to find a better fitting o-ring at the FLAPS.

Replaced the sensor with a new Bosch. Fixed it.

It took me four tries to get the fuel rail sensor to work correctly. The original (#1) OEM Fomoco one was worn out so I replaced it with a Chinese one (#2) from *bay that sprayed gas everywhere because it was defective. I then exchanged it for free with (#3) from the same Chinese company that did appear to work. But after I drove the car a while, the same low pressure error code popped up. I finally replaced it with the Oem Bosch (#4) and now the code went away and all is good.

As a rule of thumb, parts that end with "sensor" should be replaced by genuine OEM. The calibration with the ECU is critical and the aftermarket parts are probably out of tolerance with spec.

Except for O2 sensors, because those are not guaranteed to send the same voltage return signal from sensor to sensor.
