Hi everyone! I am a new 2008 lr2 owner. I bought it 8 months ago and it has 80,000 miles on it. I need some names of good independent land rover mechanics in this area. They can be anywhere in nola, metairie, etc. Please let me know if anyone has any names. I am having some problems with it and the mechanic i brought it to doesnt seem to know what is going on. He changed the vacuum pump but it is still doing the same things it was before he replacd the vacuum pump? Please help! I love this vehice!

 

I doubt you will find any independent LR mechanics who are even close to the capabilities of a dealership. I will take my LR2 to an independent station for basics like tires, brakes, and battery. But everything else, it goes to the dealer. They have the technical service bulletins, the recall info, the software patches, the special tools, and help from other LR technicians all under one roof. These modern vehicles are so complex and so dependent on software that it's hard for an independent shop to compete on anything beyond the basics.

 

Can I ask what the issue is? I live in New Orleans and I go to the dealer in Metairie but I have used these people a few times for minor issues.

When I was deployed my wife used this place for some minor issues. I usually go to the dealer in Metairie. It is a good dealer ship. Ask for Laura.

You would be surprised! There aren't many, but there are shops that can rival the dealer.
