So I found an alternator for my LR2 but I need advice for changing it out. My husband wants to do it himself. Any ideas where I can find out how to change it out?

 

you need to take off the intake, and then a few other things. you will need new gaskets for the intake otherwise it will cause check engine light to come on. There might be a special tool. Ironically, that was the one thing on those engines I didn't change, but I believe it was straight forward remove with all the regular tools. But if you want to go to landrover.com and check out there techsite that you can purchase to access the vehicle by itself that includes bulletins and directions for everything on that vehicle. There is no other way to get the info correctly. RAVE only works on 2004 and below.

 

pretty basic but you will need to purchase a new belt as well for the gear they wear in together
