Intermittent rumble strip-like sound
Yeah I'd do the wheel bearing for sure, those can behave quite differently when jacked up with the load off vs. loaded at speed.
Next take a close look at the various drive shafts, did one get damaged or even dented? That could throw it out of balance. I can't recall if there are any rubber dampers installed on the LR2 shafts, but if those come off it can make low-freq vibration.

Just to close this out with the solution. It was indeed the right rear wheel bearing. I replaced it with one from Rock auto, and the noise is gone. Those chassis ears paid for themselves in this single repair.
I borrowed a FWD wheel bearing removal kit from AutoZone that had the right size discs and sleeves to work on the Land Rover’s rear bearings, fortunately. I didn’t have to remove the knuckle. The biggest pain in the *** in the whole job was getting those parking brake shoes reinstalled.

One more note that this Land Rover spent most of its life in California and then Colorado until 2021, so there was no corrosion to worry about. I have a slide hammer, and it made short work of getting that hub off.

Awesome! It’s a great little city. I’ve lived here since 2019, after moving here from Colorado. My wife to be was here with her kids, so we will eventually move back to Colorado.

The other day I took it to the auto shop at the local Air Force base, and paid $5 to use the lift so I could put Liqui-Moly gear oil additive in the rear diff.
Then I examined the ENTIRE frame up close. All of it. Virtually no rust. Blew me away.

Yup. Bashton. Voted most annoying accent in the US.
