You won't screw it up. Take you time, wear "brown pants" , and don't panic!

The last one lasted less than a year, failure mode is always the remote stops working, presumably due to bad battery. I've never had any key fail to start the car (doesn't need the battery when it's in the dock).

The AP200 usually takes a few tries to program it, just keep trying until the new key doesn't eject itself from the dock.

You will not brick your original key... you have to insert a valid key to start the process, that will remain valid regardless of what happens with the new key.
Hello
I bought the AP200 dongle and bought the KeyFob at the amazon sight. I followed the instructions on the AP200 app and when I when I insert the new KeyFob to the docking slot the mechanism keeps on ejecting it. Anyone notice this whis programming a new KeyFob?

Either keep trying until it takes, or return it to Amazon and buy a different one. Look for one that has consistently high reviews.

Mine always does that, keep trying a few times and then exit the procedure. Try the fob in the ignition, good chance it will work fine.

If not, repeat a few times. If it still doesn't work get a fob from a different vendor like flybd5 said.

I've used the X AUTOHAUX brand several times, programming behavior is what I described but they've always worked in the end...

Amazon Amazon

BTW, after the FOB is successfully programmed it is supposed to be ejected. Try it after that to see if it works and starts the truck.

Yes, you're right. The Autel software always says it fails and ejects it even if it's successful, at least with the fobs I've used,

I talked with customer service about this and they still haven't fixed it.

Thanks for the reply. The app only gives about 10 secs to remove the original KeyFob and insert the new KeyFob (not enough time to re-insert on several tries.). I bought the KeyFob where merlinj79 bought his. I will try it again tomorrow for the second time. Thanks

I have a 2001 Disco II and I am trying to use the AP200 to program 2 new fobs. When I downloaded the Autel app, it told me to download a separate app for Land Rovers (picture of app below). Then it wouldn't decode my VIN and when I tried to manually enter the car details (year, make model, etc) , it only gave Discovery car dates from 2005 and above. What am I doing wrong? (And because Im a patient man, Im open to sarcasm as well based on my last question
