Default Land Rover LR2 - 2014 - Needs Turbo Charger, Intercooler Kit, Valve Cover - Advice?

Hello, I own a 2014 LR LR2 with 89K miles on it. The vehicle is whirring and loud above 2,500 RPM. Took it to my repair shop (local private place) and am being quoted $6,300 for:

Turbo charger and intercooler kit, valve cover, and pipe kit.

Does this seem like a reasonable price? This repair shop has always done me right, but admittedly, I was shocked by the estimate.

The vehicle is probably worth $8K-$9k, I would assume so the question is, do I get this repaired, or do I go out and buy a newer Land Rover?

Any thoughts/advice appreciated!

The turbos on these have a history of failing, but I don't know why they want to replace the valve cover or what they mean by a "pipe kit." Has this shopped worked on your LR2 before? What experience do they have with LR2's? Perhaps you may want to get a second opinion from a shop that is known to work on LR's.

Thanks for the reply. The valve cover needs to be replaced as another issue I've been having is a fuel or oil smell in the cabin (slight) when starting up the vehicle, so it's a separate problem. I don't know what they mean by "pipe kit" either. I'll ask. They do have experience working on LR2s but they work on all luxury vehicles, and are not LR specific. They claimed that they replaced a turbo on an LR2 last week and have completed other replacements of turbo for LR2s as well.

$6300 is a lot of money. I would get a second up opinion.
