LR <=> Volvo parts interchange list
Is anyone aware of a list of LR2 part numbers with the equivalent Volvo part number, if such a list even exists? I want this for all the coolant and heater hoses.
Not aware of any such list.
But I think many of the hoses are not interchangeable, since the volvo body is different and many coolant components are mounted on the chassis, not the engine bock.

Old school thought... larger hoses are more prone to age-induced failure.
Since heater hoses are smaller and often very hard to access, it was common in the past to replace the big hoses and not mess with the heater hoses.
I had a radiator leak on a road trip, so I paid a shop to do most of the coolant stuff while they were in there (the car made it to our vacation home so we had the time). They replaced the largest five hoses pre-emptively, but not the coolant hoses.
I think FlyBD5 has some experience with hose failure.

Dang it, don't scare me like that!
And I still had a small leak that turned into a gusher today. I could not find it before, but when I saw that ALL the coolant I was putting in was coming out, I pulled the reservoir and found that my mechanic had not secured the bottom hose correctly and over time it had worked itself completely loose. At least that's now taken care of. No more leaks (I hope).
