Does anyone know of software I can get at a reasonable price that will program a replacement ignition switch and key fob. This is for the dreaded Land Rover LR 2. 2008 model.

Please research the thread well and read all posts; you will need a quality supply charger (25 amps min); this is a must, etc.

There is also software that you can purchase that I believe in phone apk also with hardware but for some reason the name currently escapes me..........happy hunting!

Remember, you can "brick" an ECU easily.........and the LR2 is full of them!

 

As ThorInc said, you can wind up bricking things on your car if you try to do this but don't know what you are doing. The result of that will likely be having to spend a heck of a lot more money than you would have spent by having a dealer or a qualified mechanic do the work.

The software you are asking about is very expensive, only dealers and large independent shops would afford it.

I understand the need to reprogram a replacement key fob, I've had to do that for my own vehicle. Why do you need to reprogram the ignition switch?
