Default LR2 Brake Fluid?

The manual says Shell DOT 4 ESL for the brakes, which is no longer available. Anyone know of a suitable alternative?

Also is flushing/bleeding the brakes straight-forward or does the ABS require special procedures?

Thanks!

Any quality DOT4 fluid will work just fine.

I prefer ATe SuperBlue (for "offroad" use only because of it's color) or ATe TYP200 (the on road legally colored equivalent).

Pentosin Dot 4 LV is the replacement. The "LV" part is important if you are concerned about meeting factory specs.

To answer my own question, it's about 1.5 L, so buy two 1L bottles and you'll have some extra for top-off down the road.

I've been using the Pentosin DOT4 LV.

Not that anyone has asked, lol, but I use Motul 5.1 with stainless brake lines.
