Default LR2- dashboard cracked

Hello! I have a 2008 LR2 with the top panel of the dashboard very fragmented. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to fix it? I attach a photo. Thank you!

Never seen anything like!

Maybe try some type of vinyl/carbon fiber wrap?

I wonder if that's what happens when the air bag deploys?

I think that's what happens when your wife is too lazy to use the sunscreens that you bought for the car.

I did research, there are some good aftermarket overlays for the LR3, but none for the LR2

I also found a video of a guy who had removed the entire dash from the vehicle, filled it in with a filler made for that, then painted it. Way too much effort for me.

https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/sho...2/dash-covers/

Amazon Amazon

If you don't like these options search Google for "dashboard cover land rover lr2".

And remember that if you are going to do time travel you have to treat your dash with some good lotion first.

I was interested in a hard plastic shell, like the Laformo cover for the LR3. No thanks on the carpets.

Although that CoverCraft ltd. edition doesn't look too bad, maybe I'll try one of those.

Yes, indeed the deterioration of the dash was my fault. I was not aware and the sun and humidity damaged it. But I really want to fix it. I thank you very much for the effort to find me alternatives and give me your recommendations.
Thanks!

Many, many years ago I had a split in a dashboard on a classic car. I found a shop that corrected it by filling the crack with a vinyl resin, matching the color then matching the pattern embossed on the dashboard. Clearly yours is an extreme case and probably not worth the cost. If you really want it “fixed”, see an upholsterer. The good ones can achieve magic..

I have a similar issue on my '08 LR2's dash. Vehicle has spent its entire life living outside in the elements and harsh Virginia sun. I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to keeping our older vehicles running and looking good and only use highly-rated products with UV protection on our dashboards. The LR2 is our only vehicle exhibiting cracks like this. The cracks start in the thin outline of the airbag cover and eventually spread to the rest of the dash including the cluster cover. You can see the cracks get wider and narrower as the dash material expands/contracts depending on ambient temperatures. It's a shame because I love the LR2, but this cracked mess stares back at me every time I'm behind the wheel.

Coverlay Manufacturing makes hard dash caps/covers for the LR3 and RR Sport, but not for the LR2. When I inquired about the possibility of an LR2 cover, they did add me to their "wish list" for possible future products. If anyone else would like to see something other than the carpet toupees currently being offered, it might not hurt to contact Coverlay and demonstrate that there is indeed some interest for a hard-style cover. Just use the contact form at the bottom of their web page: https://www.coverlaymfg.com/
