SOS: RPM is reaching to 6/7K
Expert!! I need your help!
When I start the engine, the rpm is reaching to 6/7/8 k right away even though I don’t press the accelerator.
After disconnecting the battery, it starts very calm as normal. But in few minutes, rpm is reaching to 4k and more. I scared so I turned off the engine.
Please help me. Is this throttle body or it sensor problem?
2009 Land Rover LR2 with 12k miles.
Recently, I cleaned the solenoid valve because of P0012 code.

Excuse my stupidity. I am sharing my story with you.
For, my confession might help you to widen your mechanical horizon.
I found my new weather-tech floor mat covering the accelerator since I installed it in the dark condition.
When I tried to get my car in the garage, I was able to press the brake but I couldn't feel the accelerator paddle.
So I realized that the accelerator was covered by the floor mats.
Thank you all the time!

I like this forum but sometimes it feels like we laugh at the wrong moment.
BYWISDOM1610 - thanks for sharing your story it is an excellent example of why we need more background information and I appreciate your honesty
Someone can fact check me but I believe it was a Toyota or Lexus that had a floor mat problem that resulted is vehicles crashing and I believe fatalities.
For my Wife's 3 series the mats are held in place with Velcro pads and I got a code for a accelerator pedal problem and when I saw the mat touching the pedal I added more Velcro and when that only worked for a couple of months then she lost her matt (I removed it)
I do understand the the root cause was how she would get out of the car but even when I told her about it she couldn't stop long term so I did what I did and I would do it again.
I seem to remember that the BMW ECU set a code because the pedal wasn't getting back to zero and then I moved the matt and the code never came back but because it is me I made sure that the matt was 10 mm or 1/2 an inch or a fingers width away from the pedal and I would check it periodically. The third time that I found it touching the pedal (not displacing, no code set, only touching) I removed it.
This is just my $0.02
Take care
Paul
