Default LR2 Horn - what does it sound like?

I just purchased a 2010 LR2 with 54000 miles. LOVE it. But the horn sounds like someone blowing through a rhino horn or grinding breaks. Is it suppose to sound this way? Or do I need to get it looked at.

Mine sounds like a normal horn, no grinding.

Unhappy LR2 Horn

Seems I need a replacement horn. The "speaker" portion is blown out, and thus why it makes the strange noise.

At least it "sort of works". So it's time to find parts and save for the repair. The front bumper will have to be removed, so it will not be a little job, as far I can tell.

That sounds like a PITA, it doesn't make sense to locate something like a horn where it can't be easily replaced (but I wouldn't put it past LR).

I'd be tempted to find an alternate location using some zipties, assuming you can access the wire to the horn.
