Mystery Tube Assembly in US 2012 LR2
the jury is out on the value of the italian tune up... but I for one am a fan of the fun. Actually, I take the opportunity every spring to disconnect the battery, reset the electronics by touching the two leads together, then reconnecting the battery and going for my drive of combInation city and country road. Usually 300 kms or so. I do that with the xkr too. Keeps away the gremlins and keeps the vehicle running purdy... though as I understand it, the TCU is not reset by the process.
Interesting. I don't have the bulbous pipe coming up from below in my 2012, mine is just a thin plastic pipe below the "U" portion.
The plastic pipe portion has a landrover/Jaguar part number printed directly on it, so it is not part of the "Volvo" engine, not something I could pick up from a Volvo dealer.
It looks like the bottom part of that pipe assembly snakes under the engine and may be specifically designed for Landrover since it may goes thru LR2-specific suspension parts.
I can see why they sell it used online since it is probably not cheap from the dealer.

Just as you can reach the end of the Internet, you've reached the end of my knowledge on this.
