Heh. At 145k miles any car is likely to become a hobby/project if it doesn't have a good maintenance record. I bought mine because it was cheap and I could do most of the work myself, and it turned out to not be so hard to bring it up to snuff and make it a reliable short/long distance driver. This is why I am urging the OP to do the homework and not walk into it blindly....
It got a new clutch at 150K, but that was more because I wanted to go up one stage. I might replace the coil packs, supposedly those can get iffy after 200K.

If you don't do DIY work on your car I guess that's what you will have to pay. I paid $2800 for mine with nearly the same mileage, and in a year I had a perfectly good running reliable daily and long distance driver that looks great. Bonus: It's 100% mine, don't owe anyone anything for it.

Related... though I paid more, much more (CDN 25K)
I did get a 2013, in 2016 with 40,000 km. LR all inclusive extended warranty for an additional 3 years or 160,000 km. It paid for the engine when it went.
Prices are berserk now.It will settle down for those who are patient. But I do occur with my colleague: the maintenance record had best be spotless. Or there are surprises coming.
