Remote won’t open car anymore...
If you know how to solder and desolder electronic components and carefully open plastic cases without breaking them, you can fix it yourself by changing the battery for about $10 or less. Instructions are on YouTube. Takes about 30 minutes. If you don't, take it to someone who does. The dealer can also fix it... for about $200.

How to open the car using the emergency key
Note: in the USA we call the vehicle a LR2 but back in the home country its a Freelander 2
Once you get it let us know if the battery is dead.
The LR2 should start even if the key in the battery is dead. (I haven't confirmed this though, let us know if its true)
Take care
Paul
