Default Should I buy "additional" warranty?

I bought my LR2 in November. Love it. no probs. My dealer, Plaza Motors in St. Louis, keeps trying to push me to buy additional coverage for 3 yrs. It includes brake pads, battery, belts, wiper blades. Costs $829. Should I do it? The dealer argues that the brake pads will need to be replaced in yr 2-3 and that would cost $1362. Thoughts?

Thanks

Does it cover labor too or just parts? If you plan on keeping your LR2 for three years it might be something to consider. The brakes are huge and I imagine they will be costly to replace. I've never had anyone from Land Rover try to sell me a warranty though. I'm sure he gets a good chunk of that in commission.

first of all, ive absolutly never seen any warrenty on a landrover that will cover your brakes due to wear. make sure thats the case. also, how long do you plan on keeping it, you got a 4yr 50k factory warrenty, so if not that long, dont worry about it, if you do plan on having it a while then yes, buy it. havent seen any big problems on the lr2 yet, but theyre new, and rovers are expensive to fix, expecially with all the technology and engineering that goes into it.

I have worked with alot of service plan providers over the past 30 years and I would be very careful to read the contract, especially the part that states "covered" repairs. I would also be careful of "aftermarket" warranty providers. As we all know it usually pays to have a good extended service plan on these vehicles, but make sure its a good one. You may also want to check with the "BBB" as to the company's standing with them.
Best of luck
