I don’t think we are being fair. Acceptable values for quiescent battery drain are defined in the workshop manual. If a vehicle is in “in delivery” from the factory, it may takes many months to reach market.

Nonetheless, I did toy with the notion of a cutoff switch. then decided in the end that if the vehicle is sitting for 4 months, I might just remove the battery and store with a maintainer (as with my boat). Or, as in the XKR, store it “unlocked”. And that way the alarm system does not add to the draw.
