About a week ago the interior driver door handle started acting strange.. at first I had to pull the handle twice to open the door, but now the handle won't open the door at all from the interior. The locks still work and I can open the door from the outside. Before it was completely failing to open the door I remember there being a lot of friction when I manually locked the door.

From the research I've done when others had similar problems the door wouldn't open from the exterior or interior and the central locks wouldn't lock the problematic door. But mine is only failing from the interior and like I said the locks do work on all doors.

Any thoughts on how to diagnose this? Does this sound like I need to replace the actuator or is it just a cable binding?

 

there is only one way to fix this problem and that is to take the off the door panel and replace any broken or worn out parts.

In this video, the door panel (door card) is being removed to access wiring for a mirror cover that includes lighting, and so the narrator talks a bit about wiring colour codes and such.
