I have only one original switch blade key fob and wanted to know if anyone has gone through the dealer to get an additional FOB? I have done it with other cars and it can be rather timely.

^ Yeah, that. The GAP tool is invaluable to have for multiple reasons including programming new keys, which with one key will pay for itself. Remotes to program can be found on eBay for around $20USD. The ones I bought are no longer sold by the seller, so I dont have a link for "known good" ones. I believe many are not built with rechargeable batteries, meaning unlike the OEM setup the remote functions powered by the battery will not recharge when in the ignition. But I have been using my key for couple years now without having to replace the battery - or mine were ones that could recharge, not sure. But that seems to be the only potential downside to a cheap knock-off fob.

 

If you don't have a Gap ID tool, but can get access to a good ODB2 scanner like an Autel or Thinktool, they can program the keys too. I programmed mine using my Thinktool Pad10.
