Now THAT is brilliant. Alas, my Dad lives 200 miles away. Hmmm...but my uncle lives 8 miles away!

Yeah...honestly 3 sets of rims/tires would be a little bit overkill for me, especially since I only put about 5000 miles/year on the Rover.

I just got a set of Blizzak DM-V1s that I put on my 19" wheels for this winter. The only reason I went with them is because I got a set that had been used for 1 season for $200. In the future, I would be tempted to get something like the Cooper AT/W tires for winter use and highway cruising, then put on the some more dedicated AT or MT tires on my 18" wheels for the warm months. The Coopers certainly wouldn't have the traction of the Hakkas, but I think they'd be a great compromise for snow/ice driving as well as normal freeway cruising above 45F.

Sounds like a good plan. I approve!

Okay just to update - ended up committing to 275/55/20s but switched to the Falken Wildpeaks for $100 cheaper and same 60k warranty so whatever!

It's looking like I'll order the 20" stormer replicas tomorrow (black w/ machined face) and be out the door for $1300, with a nice clean factory look. When I sell the stock HSE 19" wheels and 30% remaining tires I'll get $500-600... basically, upgrading to 20's and AT's cost me $300 LESS than just upgrading my stock 19's w/ cooper zeons!!! (at stock 30" diameter vs. 32" now.)

Definitely glad I thought twice about everything and did some extra math on the diameters and clearance.

Here you go - pulled the trigger on the 20" tires on Friday so I wouldn't be tempted to keep figuring something out on the 19's (even though I love the HSE wheels) - OR doing something really bad and thinking about 22" wheels! lol.. these came in Friday - hopefully will have the stormer's in by Wednesday with another update.

Obviously you can see how large they car compared to the stock 19" HSE wheels and stock tire size of 255/55/19. I think I made the right choice - better looks AND increased capability.

Hi guys - looking to do the same setup, with 18" Disco II wheels for summer w/ MT/R's or similar, and keep my stock 19" with the already mounted Blizzaks for winter. A few questions:
1) Assuming I buy another set of TPM sensors, is it 'plug and play' after both sets are paired, or does the vehicle have to be reprogrammed at very wheel swap?
2) Does anything else on the vehicle have to be re-programmed to change from 19" to 18" wheels?
3) What size MT/R's seem to work best, as there isn't an exact match?
4) anything I'm forgetting, other than the fact the Disco wheels need the center hole milled out?
TIA! Erik in NE CA
