1) Assuming I buy another set of TPM sensors, is it 'plug and play' after both sets are paired, or does the vehicle have to be reprogrammed at very wheel swap?
2) Does anything else on the vehicle have to be re-programmed to change from 19" to 18" wheels?
3) What size MT/R's seem to work best, as there isn't an exact match?
4) anything I'm forgetting, other than the fact the Disco wheels need the center hole milled out?

A couple things to consider here.

As I recall, the TPMS system will actively scan for wheels and pressures of specific locations at a pre-programmed interval / method - this is per LR service documentation but I can't recall exactly how it works. Personally as I'm about to do with these new 20's and have done in the past - I'm just going to get a friend with TestBook to disable the TPMS module entirely (selling my 19" HSE wheels as-is with tires/TPMS so it's not worth the trouble to break them apart to grab sensors).

As for your second question - this is more a matter of your overall tire diameter and not the wheel diameter, and would only impact the accuracy of your speedometer really (and some performance differences as final drive would technically be impacted, but may be difficult to notice). So short answer is no.

I don't think there's a best size - the vehicle will be happiest sticking near 30" overall diameter, but you can throw a larger sidewall on there and be fine. There's a size chart on the johnson rods website that shows the max diameter w/o a lift.

4) - this is the big one! I don't so much know if they need to be milled out, but lug holes will NOT be lug-centric and thus I don't know if they will be able to center the wheel on a newer model LR. I've put late model LR wheels ONTO my DII, which required the rings to make them hub-centric. You have the opposite problem - much less documentation going this direction unfortunately.

My research, many years ago, wielded the same conclusion...that they'd need to be milled out.

Ouch - well in my experience there's FAR less P38 / disco wheels floating around than LR3, FFRR, RRS, etc wheels - so I'm not used to people going that route.

UNFORTUNATELY I ordered all this stuff either last week or on monday, and I've got all the wheels and tires here, valve stems center caps etc..

BUT the rhino rods won't be here till Monday, even though I ordered them ON MONDAY from L8llc in a 2 day shipping zone. Apparently they didn't ship out till yesterday.

So all my wheels and tires are just going to keep sitting here I guess. Really would have loved to get them on there before the weekend.

EDIT: Ehhh f' it, I'll throw them on today anyways lol. My average speed in traffic is about 20mph, zero cornering, zero off-road.. I should be fine till Monday when the lift rods get here.

When I was looking for 18" rims, the situation was the opposite. Plenty of D2 and P38 rims around, slim pickins for the LR3 rims.

I think you'll be fine around town sans rods. I run my 32s all the time at normal heights until I get to the trailhead, then the IIDTool comes out. Just stay out of Access Height.

They drove perfectly fine, and while I didn't push any turns or cornering, I didn't hear any hints of rubbing. At 31.9" that sounds pretty good. Then again I think the rhino rods are still a good idea.

Quick shot.

Thanks man, glad I went with the OE look. Something about stormers of any kind / color / size on any land over always works out haha. Tire size seems to have worked out well too, even though it's pretty rare.

Obviously you can see how large they car compared to the stock 19" HSE wheels and stock tire size of 255/55/19. I think I made the right choice - better looks AND increased capability.
Hey dude - I've got 20" wheels and am trying to figure this equation out. I keep snapping sway bar links with my 265/60/20 Coopers + 2" programmed lift. It's a width issue, not height. I've got more height. So I'm wondering how you've done with these 275/55/20 Falken Wildpeaks you've got? I may pick some up today if you say they're working well for you.. Thanks!
