2005 Amber EMS light on. No change in performance, LR checked no change.
Hi,
I bought this vehicle at 6 mths. old in 2005 and it has performed extremely well with only a few issues that were covered during warranty.
Has anyone had this light come on? It came on last week on a trip to Calgary from Victoria B.C. I took it to LR Calgary and they did a software update and the light went off for a few hours and then came back on but I drove back from Calgary to Victoria B.C. with no issues. Does anyone have suggestions before I take it to Land rover Victoria for another test?
Out of interest, I get poor gas mileage, (Probably the same as everyone does) but I felt the transmission was shifting later than I am used to so I drove back in manual shifting. My gas mileage went from 14.7 avg. to 22 mpg! over the same trip outbound. (1100 kms.)

Odd. One is for coolant temp the other for an O2 being slow/dead. Either you have two unrelated issues, being an stuck open t-stat and dead O2, or you have an electrical problem. Check battery voltage before firing it up next time then check operating voltage. You can do either onboard if you search LR3 secret menu. But the values will be slightly off as they are not 100% accurate yet will help point out any big issues on that end.

I'll try checking the battery voltage but notsure what 'Secret menu' means?
Thank you!

I just had the LR in at the dealership in Victoria today and you were right, the thermostat needed replacing. Thanks again Dakota!
