Default splick towards rear portion of right side passenger seat

Below is a 7 page link re the splice. I could not find anything specific to circa 2008 three's but did see jpg's in the link that show in the UK, that the splice tends to be located closer to the B pillar and on the left hand passenger side.

For the USA LHD, the splice seems to be closer to the A pillar and on the not steering wheel side, the right side of the 3. Also the splice wires seem to be either buried in the middle or at the bottom of the wiring loom - hard to see/find, in other words.

I just wondered if on the USA 2008, the splice was closer to the B pillar but still on the passenger right side.

Using green white wire for the search word phrase in Disco3, I found 86 hits. Above is one of the hits.

Update for bbyer and everybody else, I went to Satan's Den this morning and they diagnosed that the key is bad. Cost of diagnosis was half hour labor. I ordered a new key. Cost will be about $300. There will also be an additional 1 hour labor cost to program the new key. Service Manager said that it sometimes takes them longer than 1 hour to program, but they will only charge me 1 hour. New key will be here in about a week - Additional time for me to try to determine if in fact there is a 'splice' for the green/white wires on my USA 2008 vehicle, and if so, find it and repair. As I said in earlier posting however, I'm very confident that there has been zero water flooding onto the wiring that sits in the channels beneath the door sills, from Sunroof or elsewhere. It has always made me slightly nervous, in the back of my mind, that I do not have a spare key, so, in the spirit of 'glass half full', I'm not going to complain too much. Now, if the new key doesn't work properly, i.e. suggesting a different issue causing my current key to be non-working, such as RF Receiver or wiring, then I will be telling the dealership that I will not pay for, or accept, the new key. I'm thinking that I will keep my spare key on the outside of the vehicle somewhere, although not completely underneath, in case I lose it in a mud pit or rock-crawling. There is space within the winch-tray on the front of the vehicle, so I think I'll fabricate a small waterproof 'box' and secure it in a fairly hidden spot. I will probably continue to research the mystery green/white wiring splice, and report back. I will definitely provide a final report-back when I have a working set of keys, so that we can all move on with our lives. Sidenote, my 2008 has been 100% reliable and problem-free in every other way, despite some pretty harsh off-roading.

Default hidden key

The way I handled my hidden key was to order up a properly metal key blank thru Land Rover, (about fifty dollars), and then attached it to a defective key fob - that way the cut key blank had a handle. This I hid outside. Also I found that the key metal does rust badly as my initial attempt at keeping it dry did not work - it did clean up however.

My good key fob assembly, I hid inside out of the weather. The idea is that your outside key lets you into the interior via the drivers door mechanical lock.

Each year, I operate the mechanical lock to make certain it still works - with the window rolled down - as with lack of use, the mechanical bits will freeze up over time.
