Default 2005 LR3 specific issues

Hi, can anyone actually point out what the issues were with the 2005 LR3? from what i can gather is that because this was the first Year teething issues included Soft Transmission castings and electrical routing issues. since 2005 and as the LR has got older i have heard that electrical wiring corrosion is an issue which in the LR3 is pretty terminal but cannot gather specific information only LR techs saying stay away from the 05. The other question did these 05 LR3's have a build date in 04? and at what month did the changes take place in the 06 year, did these 06 LR's with the changes have an 05 build date.
The reason this has come up is that i already own 2 06 LR3's that have 06 build dates and am looking at another 06 that i have just found out has an 09/05 build date and must of been in dealer stock till it got its first title in 06, the owner is not happy that i have pointed out that his LR3 is actually an 05!

I think that any changes are incremental and not based on some hard cut-over date between MYs. For example, the early diffs were failing because of some coating inside. It affected 2005s and some 2006s. No one really knows when the design change took effect. Transmission castings? I'd love to hear something definitive on that...sounds a bit crazy to me. Some tech went up and did a Brinell Hardness test on 05s and 06s and noted a difference? Sounds like crapola. Same with the wiring.

On wiring: I went through very early on and added plastic shielding to the wires that run along the chassis, moved my EAS wiring in the wheel well, and by and large so much of it is now protected by sliders and skid plates that I wouldn't notice...and that approach can be employed regardless of MY.

Anyway...as a 2005 owner, I'm also curious to know of any legit issues that haven't been remedied with a simple part uprating (like the EPB actuator or tailgate latch assembly).

I rebuilt a diff on an 07’ that had the paint inside the case flaking off and destroying the bearings.
