2005 lr3 thermostat assembly

I had a thermostat assembly installed on my 2005 4.4l lr3. do you remove the yellow clip after installing the assembly?

I would say no, as it looks like it is clamping

Agreed. It is a clamp that holds the two pieces together.

thank you so much but what about the others side ? it has no clamp . I was under impression that this piece expands a little?
