2006 LR3 won't raise suspension
Hello everyone,
a neighbor asked me to do her brakes on an LR3. I jacked the truck and when I was done I lowered it but now the suspension stays the way down. I read the manual but haven't been able to figure out how to raise it back up. She mentioned something about having to raise the truck before starting to work on the brakes, however I went on youtube but didn't see anyone doing anything like that when they raise the truck while replacing the brakes.

Couple of things. First, if there are lift rods then the sensors are way past their limited when slammed and it will fault out. Reason 468 why lift rods are junk. So check for those. If installed then simply jack the vehicle up but not to full standard height. Just enough to get the sensors reading, so something around access height or so. That will allow them to get a reading again and it will raise up.
If no rods, then you need to inspect the sensors and make sure they did not somehow pop off. Also mention the actual fault displayed on the cluster and what icons on the cluster light up. Codes of course help, but you need a tool that can read Rover specific ones for the suspension.
As for doing brakes, there is no need to raise the vehicle. Brakes on the LR3 are like any other brakes. No special process or computer reset, adjustments, etc.

The height sensors have plastic/rubber rods that connect the sensor itself to the suspension. People replace them with longer ones to gain more height. Its a cheap cheat to get a lifted truck.

Okay....I guess. There are plenty of (better) jacking points along the frame rail, but that's fine. I was just making sure you didn't inadvertently jack it from the EAS compressor! It is covered and can sort of blend in with the frame....I guess, anyway. I just know other people have done that.
