2006 LR3 Wood Grain Dashboard Kit
Has anyone bought and installed one of these kits, or bought one from the dealer and had them install it? I believe these kits apply with a 3M adhesive. I was wondering how they hold up in the long run. I got a quote for around $800 installed, from the dealer. Does this sound like a good price? Any comments apreciated. Thanks

RE: 2006 LR3 Wood Grain Dashboard Kit
We plan to get to work on an interior upgrade for the LR3, using parts "CNC'd" from 5052 Aluminum alloysand marine grade bronze. I will probably resurface some of the plastic areas but I'm not sure I am going to spec wood for our studio LR3. It will be an available option material. And most likelya sprinkle here and there, certainly not the mass pieces of the kits I've seen.
So hang in there you may want to see what we develop first.

RE: 2006 LR3 Wood Grain Dashboard Kit
I installed it on my 2006 (found a used kit on Ebay for $49). It looked nice, not like the Range Rover because it does look like it is a "fit over" install.
I tried to remove it because I was trading the 2006 in on a new 2007 V8 and let me tell you the tape sticks. I ruined the kit and never bought the V8.
So if you ask me "what is the supidest thing you have done this year". It is removing the wood kit.
I would like to see other options thant the $800 kit and the cheap looking plastic/wood kits on the market.
