2006 Purchase Price
I was targeting an 07 or 08' LR but I found a 06' HSE with mediocre service records. I think the seller is asking too much and the valuation numbers are split by upwards of $3500.00 using different websites. What do you think is a good price for 06' LR3 HSE 110K Miles ?

That question is so open-ended that I don't think any answers would be meaningful. If it's in great condition and all maintenance work has been done, maybe $12,000. If it hasn't had its tranny flushed and is in need of diffs and lower control arms and the EAS isn't working....$6000.
I believe the control arms are nearing their time.
EAS seems to be working fine. I exceeded a sane amount of testing.

Nothing remarkable or comforting in terms of service from 55-110K miles..Nothing obviously wrong with it other than my suspicion that the LCA's are near read to be changed. No engine or drivetrain noise. The only electrical gremlin that presented itself was inconsistency in the bumper sensors. The suspension functioned fine. No Dash lights.
Another one I looked at insisted that the "Bonnet Open", when it clearly was not, lol.
If it were a different vehicle and I wasn't tainted by the forums Id probably be less hesitant.
The owner is planning to trade it in and Im thinking enough over the tax saving + trade credit is not an unreasonable number..
Trade valuation shows $6500-7000.

I just paid $6500 for an 06 HSE w/o locking rear diff. Truck exterior was in great condition, interior pretty good with the exception of 2nd row seats (owner let a dog tear them up). Navi unit isnt functioning correctly (likely need a new unit @ $125-150).
Vehicle had 70% tread on aftermarket 20" wheels + 95% tread on LR 19" wheels. Has the front brush bar, LR driving lights, G4 front and rear light guards, and brand new brakes / rotors / calipers all around
The truck has 167K miles on it, previous owner had 29 pages worth of maintenance on it since he owned it (bought with 40k miles on it and owned for 4 years). Mostly all of the common issues were tackled, but that only buys time until the need attended to again.
Now, I feel like I might have slightly over paid in this scenario. That same truck, I feel, should've been 6K. I would've likely paid 7K without issue if it had a locker.
Since I've owned the truck, 3 weeks, I've already racked up 1k worth of items going into it. (used rear seats - 400, snorkel - 150, lift rods - 100, bluetooth kit - 25 , SatNav module - 125, dash mat to cover ugly cracks - 60, interior lighting - 50, hood struts + brake switch - 50, hella 700's for the front - 75)
Still need - Drivers armrest, cupholders, new CV shaft somewhere lol maybe rear driver side, 18" wheels and off road tires
Noted fact - even with the witnessed maintenance records, his LR dealer sucked at repairs. I find a lot of things not done "correctly" as I view or observe different areas of the vehicle (which pisses me off as I don't 100% how to troubleshoot everything)
I live in Ohio (where the climate sometimes offers lower prices than a more favorable environment) and it was still hard to find a truck that I could buy for what I was willing to pay. I knew right off the bat that I'd put 1k-2k in just to get it to suit me. So I wasn't willing to have 12K in one. I had a ceiling of 7-8k in one of the nicest trucks possible so I could stay under 10K total investment.
Just have to account for the knickknacks after purchase like I did. There will always be something wrong with a used vehicle lol maintenance history or not.
As I've stated before, most issues on these trucks are not catastrophic and are often predictable lol so set an investment point and look to attain it
Best of luck
